Important The Children’s Trust Dates for 2023

Family Expo, Champions for Children, summer camps and more

Hopefully, the end of 2022 brought you celebrations or rest, whichever you needed most. As you and your children look forward to another year of growth, experiences and challenges, The Children’s Trust will be with you along the way, providing you with support, resources and events that help your children live their fullest lives. Here are some dates to look forward to.
* All dates are subject to change, so check www.TheChildrensTrust.org as individual events near.

January

The year will get started with the traditional Martin Luther King Holiday and Parade in Liberty City, Battle of the Bands at Southridge High School and more.

March

Auditions for the annual Young Talent Big Dreams competition, Miami-Dade’s largest youth talent competition, start on March 18 and run through April. Students interested in signing up for the Summer Youth Internship Program (SYIP) must have their application submitted by the end of the month. To sign up, visit https://miami.getmyinterns.org/.

April

The 17th Annual Champions for Children Award Ceremony will take place April 27 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Miami Airport & Convention Center. For tickets visit www.TheChildrensTrust.org/Champions.

May

If you haven’t already signed your children up for summer camp, don’t wait any longer! Visit www.TheChildrensTrust.org/SummerCamps for more information on Trust-funded summer camps, Summer 305 and more. The semifinals and finals of the 2023 Young Talent Big Dreams competition will be held.

July - August

The annual Battle of the Books will take place in the summer to make sure our children continue reading throughout these months to avoid the common summer slide! The Family Expo returns at the end of July and into August at three locations throughout the county. Visit www.TheChildrensTrust.org/FamilyExpo for dates and locations.

October

Celebrate Halloween in a safe, family-friendly environment with the Spooky Symphony, a celebration of the most scarily beautiful music at the Dade County Auditorium.
