Trust to Support Children, Families and Emergency Personnel During Coronavirus Pandemic

Funding for providers to operate extended hours to be approved

Miami, FL  – The challenges posed by the Coronavirus pandemic are as widespread as they are unprecedented, and The Children’s Trust is committed to doing its part by safeguarding and providing critical services and resources for all children and families in Miami-Dade County. As such, The Children’s Trust is working with community partners and service providers to ensure there are child care options, resources and appropriate activities available for families who may need them.

The Children’s Trust is in contact with its service providers and will authorize funding to cover any additional or extended hours and resources that result from the provision of services for their program participants during this time, provided, of course, that those services abide by any and all relevant federal, state and local guidelines.

Additionally, to support Trust-funded providers who cannot open for services, The Children’s Trust has committed to continue funding those agencies and its employees to alleviate the anticipated financial burden during this crisis.

Finally, The Children’s Trust is currently working with partner agencies and other community resources to provide child care and additional support for emergency personnel who are engaged in helping the entire community get through these difficult times.

The Children’s Trust will maintain continuity of operation during this time, while allowing its staff to work remotely. The Trust will continue to monitor this quickly evolving situation and will announce additional measures as needs evolve. For more information visit www.TheChildrensTrust.org
