The Trust Hosts 2nd Family Expo Event in Miami Gardens

Event partners with PK 4 People Matter Fest

The Children's Trust’s Family Expo Pop-Up events continue this Saturday, Sept. 11- this time in conjunction with Papa Keith’s “PK 4 People Matter Fest.”

The Family Expo, the largest of its kind in the state of Florida, was designed to provide children and families in Miami-Dade with a day full of resources, information and fun. The Family Expo returns this year with four Pop-Up Style events hyper-targeted to underserved communities throughout Miami-Dade County. At the Pop-Up events, Trust-funded providers and other exhibitors will be highlighting their programs in areas such as child care, after-school programming, arts/sports, STEM, health & wellness, special populations, and family services, among others. Children will enjoy character appearances, music, magicians, balloon artists, arts and crafts, stilt walkers, photo booths and games, as well as backpack giveaways and other surprises.

Highlights of this second Family Expo event, in North Miami-Dade include:

- A collaboration with Papa Keith’s PK 4 People Matter Pop Up, a nonprofit movement positively shaping the future of underserved communities in South Florida. Papa Keith is a local celebrity and radio personality on iHeartRadio known for engaging the community and bringing awareness to key issues affecting South Floridians.

- A partnership with the Miami Dolphins, who are providing a Food Truck Round-Up with free meals for families with children (*while supplies last).

- Covid-19 testing and Covid-19 vaccinations for kids will be available, as well as some required back-to-school vaccinations for kids.

- A moment of silence in honor of the 20th anniversary of 9/11.

The Family Expo will abide by all current CDC and local regulations, with personal protective equipment (PPE) available for free.

The Pop-Up will take place from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Betty T. Ferguson Recreational Complex, 3000 NW 199th Street, Miami Gardens, FL 33056.

Hundreds of Miami-Dade families seeking resources are welcomed to join Trust staff, volunteers and other organizations.
