Rachel Spector joined The Trust in November 2007. Ms. Spector brings over 25 years’ experience in the field of early care and education, having worked for both public and private organizations. Ms. Spector is Associate Director of Programs overseeing Early Childhood (Thrive by 5), K-5 after-school and summer services and the Innovation Fund. Prior to joining The Trust, Ms. Spector worked on a project for teen parents at the Early Learning Coalition of Miami-Dade/Monroe and also as the coordinator of an Infant Mental Health program for Family Central.

Ms. Spector earned a Bachelor of Science in psychology from the University of California at Santa Cruz and a master’s degree in social work from Columbia University in New York. Her graduate studies focused on clinical services for children and families.

Ms. Spector has served as an adjunct professor at Miami Dade College where she taught in the department of early childhood education. She also serves on several local and statewide early childhood education committees.
