Although he was born in Cuba, attorney Javier A. Reyes is very much a native Floridian.

After a brief stay in Southern California, Mr. Reyes and his family moved to Miami when he was 9 years old. He is a product of Miami-Dade public schools and a double Hurricane – undergraduate and law school. While an undergraduate at the University of Miami he met his wife, Vivian, and they’ve been together ever since. Vivian is also an attorney, specializing in legal ethics and family law, and has served as a Guardian ad Litem. They are the proud parents of two daughters, Sarah and Emma.

After a diverse career that included stints as a licensed CPA and retail business owner, Mr. Reyes enrolled as a law student at the age of 38. He has since worked at various well-respected law firms, including Hogan Lovells, Murai Biondo & Wald, and Boies Schiller Flexner. His practice has been primarily in commercial and product-liability litigation and he recently opened his own firm, Bell Rosquete Reyes, PLLC, with two good friends and colleagues; the firm is located in Coral Gables. While at Hogan Lovells, he worked with two well-respected attorneys known for their public service, Parker Thompson and Carol Licko, on a brief in support of the Universal Pre-K Petition. Additionally, he assisted then-Mayor Alex Penelas and his chief of staff, Javier Soto, to promote Universal Pre-K. Mr. Reyes also represented and personally advocated for a child in the foster-care system on a pro bono basis, until the young man aged out of the system.

Mr. Reyes believes that service begins at home and defines himself first and foremost as a family man. His personal interests include reading and cooking. He is also an avid motorcyclist and boater.
