Chelsea Alfonso joined The Trust in August 2018 as a research and evaluation analyst for the early childhood development initiative. She is passionate about improving the quality and access of early intervention services so children with disabilities can get the appropriate services needed to succeed in school.
Prior to joining The Trust, Ms. Alfonso was a child wellness intern for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Strong4Life program, where she focused on addressing childhood obesity and early feeding behaviors among Spanish-speaking families. In addition, as part of her master’s practicum, she served on a multidisciplinary team funded through the Emory Global Health Institute, where she assessed intimate partner violence among pregnant women attending primary care clinics in Santiago Chile.
Ms. Alfonso holds a Bachelor of Science in biology and psychology from the University of Miami and a Master of Public Health in behavioral science and health education from Emory University Rollins School of Public Health. She is a Miami native and speaks Spanish fluently.
