Safe and Supportive Communities: Service Partnerships and Youth Violence Prevention Programs
The Children's Trust is seeking volunteer reviewers to assess applications for RFP #2010-04: Safe and Supportive Communities: Service Partnerships and Youth Violence Prevention Programs. This solicitation seeks to fund evidence-based practices to support ensuring children have safe, secure environments in which to grow, learn, and develop healthy brains and bodies. The Children's Trust believes that these types of program and services are not only good for the children themselves but also builds a strong foundation for a thriving, prosperous community and society. Accordingly this solicitation is seeking community and/or school based services in two distinct areas:

• Programs that employ coordinated, individualized wraparound services and care coordination for at-risk children, youth, and families, in specified neighborhoods that indicate high need and/or high risk factors – (Service Partnerships).
• Programs that will work to improve the lives of participants through culturally competent services designed to assist the participants to succeed in both school and neighborhood settings, by curbing the more problematic aspects bridging the two domains – (Youth Violence Prevention).

The review period for the applications for funding is July 19, 2010 through August 6, 2010. All volunteer reviewers are expected to attend one of the two volunteer trainings scheduled for July 15, 2010 or on July 16, 2010, where the reviewers will receive instructions, initial conflict of interest will be determined, and tentatively assigned proposals will be distributed. Reviewers will also need to attend one team debriefing review of all assigned proposals. The debriefing meeting will be scheduled, conveniently as possible to accommodate all volunteer team members, during the dates of August 9, 2010 to August 12, 2010.
