Everyone is excited, school will be out, and Summer is almost here!

Well, almost everyone is excited.  Moms are frequently about at our wits end thinking what on earth will we do with all that time?

When my kids were little, I found that some fun and interesting activities would keep all quiet for a long time.  They could also help me by being the focus of a host of other activities.

For example, after a visit to the museum that featured the solar system, we could do coloring about the planets or listen to a tape with songs about the planets.  I remember stumbling into my boys playing with their action figures and using the information in their play.  "Hulk can jump five times as high, now that he is on the moon!"  " Oh yeah?  Well he will burn up soon, 'cause the sun is  about to shine on him!"

All were engaged for hours, and we could really enjoy together.

Well, some very smart entrepreneurs have put together a MUST SEE event for all summer parents.  The Children's Trust 2009 Family Expo will host its annual festival from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Miami- Dade County Fair and Expo Center this May 30,  for free!

Lots of events and camps and general information helpful to parents will be there.  This really is a great resource, because it helps to plan.  With a reasonable plan,  moms and dads can turn their frustration into wonderful learning opportunities.

Yes, it IS possible!

Hope to see you there, 109001 Coral Way, Miami FL.
