In Conversation With is a Trust-produced podcast series created to spotlight the people, programs, and partnerships shaping child and family well-being across Miami-Dade County. Originally launched in 2024 in collaboration with Miami Community Newspapers, the series brought meaningful conversations to thousands of viewers, offering families direct insight into the resources and solutions making a difference in their communities. The series highlighted topics such as how to increase youth civic engagement, addressing early childhood literacy, how to raise happy and resilient children, how to decrease child drownings, and more.
Now returning in spring 2026, In Conversation With enters a new chapter as a quarterly series hosted by Lindsay Francois, Media Manager at The Children’s Trust. Each episode will feature timely discussions with local experts, community leaders, and families, highlighting initiatives that support healthy development, education, safety, and opportunity for children and youth.
The first conversation features Juliette Fabien, Chief Programs Officer at The Children’s Trust, discussing the Trust-funded initiative HealthConnect, formerly known as Health Connect in Our Schools, and the state of youth mental health in Miami-Dade County. Every day in Miami-Dade, thousands of kids walk into school carrying more than a backpack. Many bring anxiety, stress, or symptoms of illnesses that no one sees… until they do. That’s why HealthConnect exists. HealthConnect is a school-based health initiative led by The Children’s Trust, in partnership with Miami-Dade County Public Schools and the Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade. Its mission is to bring essential health services directly to schools so that every child can access free health services.
