Fifteenth Annual Children’s Mental Health Conference
May 13 and 14, 2008 • Miami Airport Hilton Linking Forces, Fifteenth Annual Children’s Mental Health Conference is being sponsored by The Children’s Trust in partnership with the Institute for Child and Family Health, Inc. The conference will be held on May 13 and 14, 2008 at the Miami Airport Hilton. Linking Forces brings together the people who work with and care for emotionally handicapped and severely emotionally disturbed children and adolescents: mental health professionals, educators, parents and foster parents, health and human services staff and the staff of community-based organizations. The conference offers a comprehensive view of children’s mental health issues which address innovative strategies for high risk groups, creative partnerships, and advocacy efforts. This year’s keynote speaker will be Kim Peek, the inspiration for screen writer Barry Morrow’s 1998 Oscar winning movie “Rain Man.” Since his involvement with the movie, Kim– accompanied by his father, Fran— has traveled the world sharing their message: Recognize and respect differences in others and treat them as you want them to treat you.
