Once again this May upwards of 25,000 children and families will converge at the Miami-Dade County Fair & Expo Center for the largest single local event of its kind: The Children's Trust Family Expo. Young and old - and all ages in between - will enjoy loads of fun and entertainment as they learn about educational, health and social services from more than 250 exhibitors. As she moved, the laser light centered in her headband traced a red beam diagonally across the paper, and the artist's hand followed, spreading a brushstroke of magenta paint where the beam moved. The 11-year-old, who attends a magnet art school, has painted in many ways, but this was her first try at laser-guided painting. Read more

YAC Youths Walk and Talk with Purpose on Trip to Tallassee
Twenty-three members of The Children's Trust Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) boarded a bus at 4 a.m. on Monday, April 12 bound for Children's Week in Tallahassee. For many of the youths, the visit to the state capital was their first. They spent three intensive days meeting legislators and officials, and got a first-hand look at the legislative process. Wherever they went, the YAC advocated on issues key to youths - and made an impact. Read more

FIU professor and new Children's Trust board member Dr. William Pelham's relocation from upstate New York to sunny South Florida in 2009 was a colossal move, not only in terms of climate shift and the thousands of miles of distance, but also because Pelham brought with him one of the premier centers in the world focused on attention disorder and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
