Readiness Gap - High quality early care and education learning environments give children an early start on being ready to learn, behaviorally and cognitively, at kindergarten entry. Socioeconomic factors can contribute to a school readiness divide as research has shown a significant achievement gap already exists between many low-income children and their more affluent peers at kindergarten entry.
